3D Printing

Vintage camera collecting and 3D printing go hand in hand, at least in my mind. I have been interested in 3D printing since relatively inexpensive consumer printers entered the market. Replacement parts and custom modifications are not easy to come by. 3D printing allows for these needs to be met cheaply and efficiently.

I currently run a Matterhackers Pulse XE (Prusa i3 variant), Anycubic Photon Ultra. The Pulse XE can print exotic materials such as Nylon, and the Ultra is a resin printer for fine detail.

All design work is done in Fusion 360, but other software like Solidworks can also be used.

While, in general, these parts do not look exactly like the original, they are good enough to make a camera functional again.

I have designed and printed knobs, gears, film masks, film adapters, spools, hand grips, and storage products.

Paterson Developing Reel Core extensions:

These extensions friction fit to Paterson reels, and allow the ratcheting function to work.
