This is the Clarus MS-35, introduced in 1946 and produced until 1952. On paper this should be a good camera with it’s 1/1000 top speed and reasonably sharp Wollensak f2.8 lens, but I have had a hard time getting it to work reliably much less produce good imagery.
It ate the first roll run through it (Delta 100) and after much tinkering I was able to get a roll of Fuji 100 through it, but only got a couple of usable images from it due to the notoriously fickle shutter. Another roll of B&W is in the works. Fingers crossed!
An unreliable shutter places the Clarus high on the Break’o’Matic meter.
