This is not your father’s instant camera. It is the Lomography Lomo’Instant, and it’s much better than I would have expected. It even has a glass lens which can combine with other glass lenses for more versatility. To be fair, the Fisheye 1, also by Lomography, was enjoyable to use. This camera, though different by nature, is more so.

Available settings are comprehensive if a little useless. Though more indoor testing is required, using this camera can best be summed up by if it’s bright out, shoot. If it’s not, don’t. The +2, -2 exposure compensation helps, but is hampered by resetting when the camera is powered off.
The Lomo’Instant uses Fujifilm Instax Mini instant film. Monochrome is the first pack I’ve run through this camera.
Overall, I’m really liking this Lomo. There are two main gripes, however. First, the exposure compensation resets to “A” when the camera is turned off. Second, if it is left in the on position, even with flash off, the 4 AAA batteries drain after two beers and an order of truffle parmesan tots.
