This is the Canon IV S (IV F), serial number 74851. I cannot say for sure if it is an IV S or IV F as my understanding is that they are identical externally and I have no desire to disassemble a perfectly good camera. If anyone has more info, such as serial number ranges, please let me know.
Canon rangefinders are fast becoming my favorite to use. They are, in my opinion, an affordable alternative to Leicas (cue ominous music and lit pitchforks).
This camera is no different. It’s solid build, reasonable weight, and wonderful Serenar lenses make it a joy to use (though I have gotten very good results with a Jupiter-8 as well).
