This is the Continental TXL fixed-lens camera, a Chinese interpretation of older Fujica cameras, likely the Fujica Flash series. Thought not made of the highest quality materials, the camera has a nice feel in the hand and is compact for an SLR.
However, at least on my camera, the split image focus aide does not seem to do much and I was constantly struggling to find focus.
Towards the end of its run (1989), according to Popular Photography used TXLs could be had for $20, a price not dissimilar to the current going rate.

Sample images taken on Shanghai GP3, stand developed HC-110 30 min. My Ilford Rapid Fixer had gone bad and I didn’t notice until looking at the dried negatives, hence the numerous white spots.
