The Nikon S2 has been on my wish list almost since I started collecting. Thanks to Robert Rotoloni and Mike Eckman I now have the opportunity to own and use this wonderful rangefinder.
Much has been written about this camera but I have to reiterate just how good it feels in the hand. The controls, though very similar to my Kiev 4A, have precision that is on another level.
I was hoping this camera could become my goto street camera, a job which previously fell to my Leica IIIa. One unfortunate by-product of the sturdiness of this camera is that the shutter is far from quiet. On a recent trip to Mexico, I garnered more than a few looks while trying to shoot some streetscapes.
While the film from Mexico, E100, is not yet developed I have included shots from my first-ever roll through the camera.

I am very pleased you are happy with this camera! Although I love my S2 very much, it’s not in as nearly nice of condition as yours! I am sure Robert is happy to know that his former camera is in the hands of someone who not only appreciates it, but also is using it!
